We recently caught up with Spencer, one of the hosts of Builder Funnel Radio, a podcast produced by Builder Funnel...
If you’re not familiar with Builder Funnel, they are a digital marketing agency that helps residential builders and renovation specialists with their marketing.
Spencer and his team created Builder Funnel Radio as a new way for builders to consume valuable information 'on the go that will help them grow their businesses. After sharing similar valuable information on their blog, the team at Builder Funnel wanted to share their content in more ways. They realised that builders are short on time. So they created Builder Funnel Radio for builders that are constantly on the go and want to be able to access that same valuable information in audio format. Each episode provides bite-sized tips and tricks that you can use to improve the sales and marketing in your building company.
The podcast kicked off in 2018 and has grown exponentially since. Starting out with an episode every other week, Builder Funnel Radio now produce 3 episodes of construction industry specific content every single week. And there’s truly something for everyone.
The Podcast Covers More Than Just Builders Marketing
Some episodes feature guests, including builders and marketing experts that specialise in the construction industry, to provide data-driven insights that reap results in building companies. A favourite is an interview with a man named Rob Baugher. Rob has 46+ years of experience in the renovations industry, he’s owned a multitude of renovation businesses and has a wealth of experience and knowledge that he shares with Spencer during their one-hour episode. He talks about selling the experience, not the product, how to turn overhead into profit and more.
There are shorter episodes where Spencer will do a deep dive into a particular element of running a building company. As Spencer puts it, "We practice what we preach." All the strategies and ideas that are shared are tested and proven, so you know it’ll work for your building company too. Some of our favourites are episode 94 where Spencer explains why spending nothing on marketing is NOT a badge of honour and episode 92 that covers the importance of a qualification process when speaking to new leads.
If you’d rather just stay up to date with the latest news of the industry, every Monday an episode of 'The Construction Cut' is released, giving you a quick 10-15 minute breakdown of the most important things happening in the construction industry right now.
That’s not all either…
Every week Builder Funnel Radio releases an episode of their ‘Building A Family Business’ series - advice specifically for building companies that are run with multiple members of the family. The advice doesn’t come lightly either. During these episodes, Spencer is joined by his father and uncle who are running the family building company that’s been around for over 100 years. Running a family business can be exhausting. Hearing advice from a family that’s held down the fort of their own building company for over a century is a good place to start understanding the ins and outs of running a family business.
There are even multi-episode deep dives into particular subjects. One of which is ‘Remodel Your SEO’ with nine extensive episodes covering what SEO is, how to leverage it, common SEO mistakes and more.
Pick and choose what you like, or listen to them all, either way, there’s bound to be something you’ll benefit from on Builder Funnel Radio.
You can subscribe and listen to Builder Funnel Radio wherever you get your construction podcasts, including iTunes, Spotify and Stitcher.
